British 24hr Kart Race - Teesside International

Hello and Welcome from British 24hr Kart Race - Teesside International

Welcome to the team donation site for "24hr Karty People", a team formulated by the cream of the crop from students and alumni of Durham University and Newcastle University.

For anyone who has ever been karting, you'll realise that it's harder work than it looks. For anyone who has ever done a 1 hour long "Ironman" event, you'll certainly appreciate the challenge we're facing with a 24 hour event!

On top of the challenge of staying awake, driving at the limit for essentially 3 Ironman events within 24 hours, there is the added challenge of maintaining our own kart ourselves. We didn't want to go the 'easy way' by hiring a kart and mechanics.

So, we need your help and support to build a massive donation towards 'Help for Heroes', the official charity for the event. Every penny will count so please put in as much as you think our up-coming challenge deserves.

We have created a website/blog site for the team so you can follow our progress leading up to the race and of course, receive updates during the course of the event.

http://24hourkartypeople.sytes.net

We'll also be recording on board race footage and video diaries/interviews so there'll be plenty of banter and news after the event too.

All proceeds go to charity, the event itself is entirely funded by the team members.

Last year's event summary can be found on our team website!

About Help for Heroes

Help for Heroes offers comprehensive support to those who have suffered life-changing injuries and illnesses whilst serving our country. This is provided through grants to individuals, other Service charities, capital build projects and our four Recovery Centres across the UK, in Catterick, Colchester, Tidworth and Plymouth. These will offer support for life. The money raised by the hugely generous public has been used to support our wounded, but there is still so much more to do. Soldiers, sailors and airmen who are injured today will still need our support tomorrow and in the days that follow, for the rest of their lives. They are still battling and we won't let them battle alone.
