About British Wireless for the Blind Fund
Did you know that there are more than 2 million people in the UK with a sight problem? Approximately 25,000 of these are children but ninety per cent of people with sight problems are over 60. Every day around 100 hundred more people will start to experience loss of sight. BWBF's job is to try and supply radio and audio sets to all registered blind and partially sighted people who are in need. Will you help?
BWBF supplies special radio sets – they either commission them especially or they are adapted from existing sets to make them suitable for someone with sight problems. You can’t buy them on the high street, they are supplied by the Fund through a network of voluntary agents. The special sets are supplied to those who need them – along with help and expertise in demonstrating how to use them – through a network of voluntary agents. People who don’t qualify as “in need” can buy the special sets through the Fund’s website at www.blind.org.uk Please help to transform someone’s life and keep a blind or partially sighted person in touch with the world by helping to supply them with a radio.
