Sanctuary For Veterans
Hello and Welcome from Peter Dean
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.
On Wednesday 11th July I had my long hair cut in order to help raise funds for Sanctuary For Veterans. But all that hair will not be going to waste as we are donating it to a charity that makes wigs for children who have lost their hair whilst being treated for cancer.
The haircut took place at 7:30pm at Carl Keiths Hair Salon in Rainhill. Many thanks to Carl, Wendy and the team at http://www.carlkeithhairsalons.co.uk/ for offering their services. They are also supporting us by selling Raffle tickets for a free Gents haircut plus if you go into the salon and mention my S4V haircut you will get a Gents haircut at Half Price and they will give us donation. See go and visit them today!
They used products from Paul Mitchell's new Mitch Collection, to help me keep my new look. For more details visit http://mitchtheman.com
Donating through this page is simple, quick and secure. It is the most efficient way to give – so every donation goes further – and if you are a UK taxpayer and give Gift Aid consent you will boost your donation.
Thank you all for your support.
About Sanctuary For Veterans
Sanctuary for Veterans (S4V) aims to provide respite and support for injured ex-military personnel and their families to help them settle back into the community after being discharged on medical grounds. An increasing number of injured Veterans are reporting an inability to cope with a wide range of practical, emotional and social issues after leaving the structure of the military, causing them to feel isolated from their community. The provision of our Sanctuary and urban Drop-In centres will help solve many of these issues and also have a positive effect on employment, health and housing.
Our Sanctuary, located in the idyllic Cheshire countryside, is scheduled to open in 2015, and will consist of 23 luxury lodges built around a Centre of Excellence. It will provide a tranquil environment where injured Veterans and their families can benefit from respite and rejuvenation, and access a range of holistic therapies, well-being services and self-development training. Single Veterans and widows/widowers and their families are also welcome at S4V. The Centre of Excellence will boast the most up-to-date wheelchair friendly facilities including a state of the art gymnasium, therapy and treatment rooms, and a communal area benefitting from the latest technology. A wide range of services and training workshops will be on offer to help empower our Veterans to feel in charge of their own future. These include courses to convert military qualifications into civilian qualifications, CV writing, interview techniques, financial training and advice, counselling and mentoring sessions, and health and well-being advice including prosthetic services for amputees. S4V will have the “WOW” factor and invite our members to relax, engage and achieve. Thank you for helping us to help our brave Veterans…
