Online fundraising
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.
Before I get too old and Knackered I am taking on the Amsterdam marathon on19th Oct 2008. I have chosen to support this charity as it is unique in the service it offers to disabled children. Your support would keep me motivated and contribute towards helping children with special needs have a brighter future. The blisters would be well worth while if it provides benefits to this local charity. Thanks very much, Winker.
Donating through this page is simple, quick and secure. It is the most efficient way to give – so every donation goes further – and if you are a UK taxpayer and give Gift Aid consent the charity will receive an extra 28% at no cost to you.
Thank you for your support.

A message from Birtenshaw
Birtenshaw hall has been established for over 50 years providing specialist care and education for profoundly disabled children and young people. We operate 2 main services: Birtenshaw Hall Special School and Birtenshaw Hall Children’s Homes. We have an onsite physiotherapist, occupational therapist and speech and language therapist who work throughout our organisation to deliver a unique service to disabled young people. Nursing input is provided by Bolton PCT. Because of our uniqueness we take children from all over the UK not just our local district.
It is a fact that children with disabilities fall within a small percentage of the community. Because we only benefit what is perceived to be a minority we are presented with a huge challenge to raise funds and our profile on a daily basis. So you can be sure that the support you give will be greatly appreciated. It costs over £1.5 million pounds a year to run Birtenshaw Hall, and we welcome additional support from individuals and organisations to support disabled children to lead ordinary lives and achieve as much independence as possible.
