The Vegan Coast to Coast Challenge

Online fundraising

Please click on the 'Donate' button below to sponsor us - you will receive a confirmation email and your contribution will appear soon on the 'Sponsors' section of our webpage.

If you are a UK taxpayer, please tick the Gift Aid box to allow St. Francis to claim tax back on the donation. The amount box contains a value of  £25, this is the default setting on Be My Charity but please feel free to change it, any amount is very welcome - every penny counts!

On May 24th 2008, we will be embarking on a
190 mile walk from Robin Hood's Bay on the East coast of Britain to St. Bee's Head on the West.

The route passes through the North Yorkshire Moors, Yorkshire Dales and Lake District, and features
16,300 feet of elevation.

We will be supported by a fully vegan diet throughout our journey, and whilst it is usually completed in around 2 weeks, we are aiming to reach the end within 8 days.

Please sponsor us on our trek, every penny raised will go directly to St. Francis Animal Welfare and enable them to care for many sick, injured or unwanted animals in need of help.

A message from St. Francis Animal Welfare

St Francis Animal Welfare is based in Fair Oak, near Southampton, where we have a purpose built animal shelter. We care for and rehome domestic animals, as well as rescuing (and treating) injured and/or orphaned wildlife.  We have many permanent residents, including ponies, sheep, chickens, goats, ducks, geese and about 30 cats which are too ill or old for re-homing. Staff and volunteers work 7 days a week, all year round.

We rely on donations, legacies and fundraising events which go toward paying for the continued welfare of all the animals, including their food, bedding and veterinary care. St Francis has a working committee which organises jumble sales, mini markets, bazaars, open days, collections and raffles, backed up by a loyal band of helpers, but more volunteers and fundraisers are always needed to continue the good work. Please visit our website (www.sfaw.co.uk), or the shelter itself, to see the many animals which would benefit from your donations. If you’d like to hold your own fundraising event for the shelter please contact Events Manager, Wendy Clinton, on wendy.clinton@sfaw.co.uk.
