Help for Heroes
Hello and Welcome from Matt and Edie Lynch
H4H 4x4 European Rally 2013
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.
We are Team Ainsdale Crusaders
Main Driver: Matt
As a member of the Territorial Army Medical Services I have served 2 tours of duty in the Emergency Department of the Medical Facility at Camp Bastion in Helmand Province, Afghanistan. There I saw many of our soldiers shortly after wounding and did my bit
to lessen injury or indeed save life, but that is only a small part of their recovery and taking part in this Rally and supporting Help for Heroes I can help with their ongoing rehabilitation.
Co Driver and Navigator : Edie
As wife to the above mentioned Matt I also had first hand knowledge of the traumas that he had to deal with in his role in Afghanistan. it has been a few years since he was there and to this day I still do not know of all of the events as it is difficult at times for him to talk about it. This is why I felt that we needed to take part in this rally as its not only the physical scars that need mending but the emotional ones and psychological ones. We were proud to be lucky enough to be one of the teams and look forward to meeting every one on our travels.
Donating through this page is simple, quick and secure. It is the most efficient way to give – so every donation goes further – and if you are a UK taxpayer and give Gift Aid consent you will boost your donation.
Thank you for your support.
About Help for Heroes
Help for Heroes offers comprehensive support to those who have suffered life-changing injuries and illnesses whilst serving our country. This is provided through grants to individuals, other Service charities, capital build projects and our four Recovery Centres across the UK, in Catterick, Colchester, Tidworth and Plymouth. These will offer support for life. The money raised by the hugely generous public has been used to support our wounded, but there is still so much more to do. Soldiers, sailors and airmen who are injured today will still need our support tomorrow and in the days that follow, for the rest of their lives. They are still battling and we won't let them battle alone.
