Daniel's Promise is a charity which supports a home for thirty orphaned and abandoned boys in Kampala, Uganda who would otherwise be begging on the streets, and helps another fifty girls and boys in the local community. We provide housing, food, clothes, games, books etc and education. We have regular fund raising events throughout the year and also many of our supporters sponsor a child, which they find very rewarding as they keep in regular contact monitoring their progress and sending birthday and Christmas presents. For many of the children this is the first time that anyone has shown them any personal attention and for all it is a very special experience in their lives. Twice a year we send out a shipment of clothes, shoes, books, toys, games etc and especially footballs which they love as they are all footy mad!

The charity was founded by Denise Gwatkin following a visit to Kampala in 2008 where she witnessed the plight of the children and resolved to do what she could with the help of friends and colleagues. But we are still a small charity and struggle to find the money to help these children who are so grateful to have this amazing opportunity for a decent start which will make such an enormous difference to the rest of their lives, and we all are thankful for any donation you can make.
