Freshfields Animal Rescue
Hello and Welcome!
Freshfields Animal Rescue began its life in the Freshfields area of Liverpool before setting up permanent home just outside the village of Ince Blundell near Thornton. Freshfields was founded as a charity in 1975. Our 18 acre hill farm in North Wales is home to 35 horses and ponies and 100 cats and kittens. Annually the Welsh rescue re-homes in the region of 600 cats, plus, via our extensive fostering programme, approximately 180 dogs and puppies all desperately in need of a new start. We provide temporary sanctuary for many smaller animals such as rabbits and ferrets that are also brought to us in the hopes of securing new 'for life' homes.
As you can imagine there are many costs involved with the care and re-homing of such a vast number of animals. Not only are there food and hay bills, but veterinary costs including medications, neutering, micro chipping, along with farrier and dental charges for the many horses in our care and all this on top of the day to day costs of the centre such as heating and light. Your contribution can literally tip the balance in what is too often a life and death situation. Many of the animals that reach our doors do so in a state of terrible neglect or abandonment and we as the rescuers can only be there for them due to the continued support and generosity of yourselves... the public. Our most desperate hope is that we can continue to rely upon your help and that this will enable us to rescue and re-home many hundreds more animals in years to come. Thank you.
