Fun and Friends at Kids' City! Kids' City provides play, activities and childcare for young children, in highly disadvantaged inner-city communities in south London. We work in dense housing areas surrounded by main roads and railway lines, where traffic, fear of crime and dangerous litter restricts children's play. Our breakfast, after-school and holiday playschemes run all year round, giving all children great places to play and helping parents get into and stay in employment. Parents tell us that their children enjoy coming to Kids' City and that their children's confidence, social skills and physical fitness have improved because of it. This is all the more important for single children in lone-parent families who make up 52% of our users.For children with special needs we provide special workers and play equipment. We also support children made more vulnerable by unexpected events in their lives - domestic violence, close bereavement, mum's emergency mastectomy, dad gone to prison are some examples.
