Hello and Welcome!

Students for Kids International Projects (SKIP) is a healthcare student-led organisation founded in 1999 and registered as a charity in 2003 which has branches in 12 UK universities. SKIP branches work across the world developing sustainable community-based projects in conjunction with identified local partner organisations. Our vision is two-fold. Firstly, we aim to improve the health, education and welfare of vulnerable children through interventions including health promotion, water and sanitation, nutrition, education and facilitation of the enablement of children with disabilties. Secondly, we aim to empower students by delivering training to advance their skills, developing them into globally and culturally aware healthcare professionals. There are twelve regional branches of SKIP, based at Bart’s and the London School of Medicine, University of Birmingham, University of Bristol, Cardiff University, University of Edinburgh, University of Glasgow, Hull York Medical School (HYMS), Newcastle University, University of Oxford, University of Southampton, St. George’s Medical School and University College London (UCL).The regional branches work in a number of countries throughout Africa, Asia and Europe:SKIP Barts: IndiaSKIP Birmingham: ZambiaSKIP Bristol: South AfricaSKIP Cardiff: BelarusSKIP Edinburgh: MoldovaSKIP Glasgow: MalawiSKIP HYMS: TanzaniaSKIP Newcastle: CambodiaSKIP Oxford: ThailandSKIP Southampton: MadagascarSKIP St George's: KenyaSKIP UCL: GhanaThey work in a number of areas including basic education, health education, capacity building, care programs, assisting building work and training.
