Holy Trinity Church
Hello and Welcome!
Holy Trinity Church, Frome, was built In 1838, to be the church for the workers in the local mills, and has always sought to serve the whole community. The adjoining former school was renovated in 2004, and is now used extensively for community meetings & functions, as well as by the church. The church building itself however has not kept up, and is in urgent need of renewal in order to meet the needs of people in the twenty-first century.
We want to be a parish church that is here for everyone, open to the community, and a place where anyone can sense the presence and love of God. After several years of discussion and prayer, what has emerged is a vision for total transformation: a design which will create a light, airy, properly heated flexible space, and also a much better auditorium offering additional space in two new galleries. There will be new seating throughout and many of the architectural features of the church, such as the Burne-Jones stained glass windows, will be enhanced by the new lighting system. In developing this vision for the transformation of Trinity, we are committed to simplicity, good quality work, and the use of sustainable materials and methods wherever possible. The result will be a beautiful and inspiring place of Christian worship for this generation and those to come, as well as an attractive auditorium for many local organisations to stage courses, conferences, concerts and other similar events. Our vision is that building works should begin in April 2013. Your donation to help us achieve our vision is much appreciated. Please come and visit us!
