This Trust has been founded with the simple objective that Mark would want as his legacy:To help whoever he could and to always give his best and expect the best in return.The 3 principle charities supporting the Trust are:1.The Rifles Care For Casualties Fund : The Rifles Charities have an enduring responsibility to safeguard the welfare of the Regiment’s serving soldiers, its 35,000 veterans, and their families through financial and practical support. The Need Since February 2007 Rifles battalions have been deployed almost continually on operations, the intensity and ferocity of which has cost the lives of 53 Riflemen Killed in Action with a further 290 seriously injured. Of these, in excess of 40 have sustained life changing physical injuries which will require long term assistance. In addition, it is anticipated that many veterans will suffer from psychological problems at some stage in the future. The Rifles Charities must therefore significantly increase the amount of financial benevolence at its disposal to meet future needs. 2. Royal British Legion: Working in partnership with Kids Klub, a provider of adventure holidays for 23 years, the Trust aims to offer FREE week-long adventure breaks to children of men and women who are currently serving, or have served in the Armed Forces. This Poppy Adventure Break is a great opportunity for young people to enjoy themselves, meet new people, experience new things, improve their self esteem – and most of all have fun. Needless to say parents get a well earned break as well. 3.Help for Heroes: Providing much needed funds for capital projects,primarily rehabilitation centres across the UKOver the course of the next 12-18 months we will be organising a series of challenges and fun days to ensure Mark's own ideals are continued and his legacy preserved.
