Charity cycle for Able Child Africa

Hello and Welcome from Charity cycle for Able Child Africa

Normal 0  I thought I should do something constructive with my gap year and so am raising money for 'Able Child Africa' by going on a little cycle ride from Cape Town in South Africa, to Cairo in Egypt. In all, it’ll mean cycling through 10 countries and covering more than 12,000km entirely by bicycle. Able Child Africa is a great charity based in east Africa which works with disabled children and provides them with much needed education, activities and care and so I’d like to try and raise as much money for them through sponsorship as I can. Any donations would be greatly appreciated, 100% of which will go straight to Able Child Africa.

Also, when asked, please confirm you would like to gift aid your donation as this gives the charity an extra 28% at no extra cost to you.

About AbleChildAfrica

AbleChildAfrica exists to improve the lives of the estimated 50m children and young people who are living with disability in Africa. We do this by supporting partner organisations to carry out life changing work with them. We think disabled children and disabled young people should be allowed to decide what changes they would like to see, so we make sure that the organisations which we work with actively involve disabled children and young people in their decision making.

We have been working in East Africa for the past twenty years and during that time have affected the lives of over 250,000 disabled children and young people. We are currently working in Uganda and Kenya and hope to expand our work to other African countries in the future. The programmes we run include rehabilitative healthcare, inclusive education, parents support groups, children's after school clubs and campaigning work which seeks the full inclusion of disabled children and disabled young people in policy and practice everywhere we work.
