Hello and Welcome from Claire Shouksmith, Polar Race
Overseas Challenges
This year I am competing in the Polar Race, a race to the Magnetic North Pole. On the 29th March my team and at the moment 6 others will fly up to Resolute in the Arctic Circle. From here we will walk 350 miles to the Pole, pulling our gear on a pulk. For more information and to follow my progress during the race go to: www.polarrace.com/2009 . I have raised all the money needed for the trip so now every penny donated goes to 'Children With Leukaemia'. I have chosen this charity as I have looked after a child in the past who had Leukaemia, he came through this but now 7 years later has been diagnosed with kidney failure which may have been caused by the drugs he took for Leukaemia. This charity researches the drug treatments children are given to prevent this from happening to other families.
