Help for Heroes Flying for Freedom

Hello and Welcome from Help for Heroes Flying for Freedom

Thank you for visiting the Flying For Freedom fundraising page.

Supported by the Royal Foundation of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry through their Endeavor Fund, Flying for Freedom provides microlight flying training and recovery services. Wounded, Injured and Sick (WIS) servicemen and women are taught to fly and are encouraged to train towards becoming Assistant Flying Instructors (AFI).

Those who qualify take an active role in supporting recovery activities or progress on to careers in the Aviation sector. The best way of looking at F4F is as a flying school for the disabled, staffed and run and staffed by wounded and injured servicemen and women.

With enough support, a team of qualified pilots from Flying for Freedom want to mount a daring expedition to Antarctica. They plan to take 5 microlights to Antarctica and make Aviation History by be being:

> First to fly Flexwing Microlights in Antarctica
> First to fly Flexwing Microlights to the South Pole

This is a very different challenge from all previous expeditions by wounded servicemen and women. The team is attempting a series of flying challenges and world firsts, that have never been tried or attempted before by the able bodied...Your donation will help them make history.

Your donation helps those learning to fly with us, but also provides great inspiration. Donating through this page is simple, quick and secure. It is the most efficient way to give – so every donation goes further – and if you are a UK taxpayer and give Gift Aid consent you will boost your donation.

Flying is a great adventure, providing a freedom from disability:

Thank you for your support.

About Help for Heroes

What is H4H all about? It's about the blokes, our men and women of the Armed Forces. It's about Derek, a rugby player who has lost both his legs, it about Carl whose jaw is wired up so he has been drinking through a straw. It's about Richard who was handed a mobile phone as he lay on the stretcher so he could say goodbye to his wife. It's about Ben, it's about Steven and Andy and Mark, it's about them all. They are just blokes but they are our blokes; they are our heroes. We want to help our heroes.

Please note, the Bmycharity website will be closing on 31st December 2015. Help for Heroes can no longer create new fundraising pages (however, donations to existing pages are accepted until the closure). If you would like to create a fundraising page in support of H4H, please visit

If you have any questions at all, or want to talk through the transition process, please contact Bmycharity on 01980 846459 or
