Dunwich, here I come !!

Hello and Welcome from Dunwich, here I come !!

Riding to Dunwich...

I probably need my head examining. On the night of the 4th July - when I could be enjoying a balmy evening celebrating American Independence (or any other excuse for a drink) I'm going to be starting off on a 120 mile (200Km) cycle ride, the Dunwich Dynamo. London to Dunwich, starting around 9pm.It's not a big supported ride, just a bunch of people (500 or so last year) riding through the black country lanes, hopefully pointing in the direction of the North Sea. Why? Because it's there. I've been drawn to it for several years, but never managed to do it. Seems like a good idea to see if I can't raise some money for a worthwhile charity at the same time.(video below explains more about the ride)

Now, here's a difference - I'm going to give YOU something!!! To be exact I'm going to give away two copies of a book with a load of my photos in. Essentially English was published last year, and would make a handsome addition to your coffee table. One copy wil go to the highest single donation and one at random from all donors. I know it won't make a difference to whether or not you support me, it's just a way of saying "thank you", a little better than just an eMail.
So, please sponsor me - either with a one off donation or come back after the 5th to see that I've made it - I expect I will need incentive to keep going, at 3 a.m. on a cold and dark night with legs that feel as if they are going to drop off........
Well, I made it. total mileage was about 150, what with 10 miles at the start and more than I care to think about after I got lost riding to the previous train station in the morning, in the pouring rain, in total euphoria and fatigue. Thanks to all who supported me and helped keep me going through the dark hours.

PLEASE NOTE: Just because the donation form comes up with a default of £25 (I hate that - should be blank) you can change it to whatever you want. Don't forget to tick the "Gift Aid" if you are a UK taxpayer to let them collect the tax on your behalf - no forms or other effort required

London Daily Photo supports Breast Cancer Care

In November 2006, my wife was diagnosed with breast cancer. One year, two operations, six months chemotherapy, two months radiotherapy and we are approaching the stage where all that is left is to get on with the rest of our lives. Helping support others that may be going through the same experience is part of the way that I want to do that

Please help in any way you can - apart from a cash donation here, there are several things you can do to help my effort. Visit my fundraising page to read more. You can visit London Daily Photo here.

The reason I chose Breast Cancer Care is that they use their money well. They were the single best point of information and support that I encountered, visit their website to find out more about them. It is my most sincere wish that you will not have to use their services yourself.

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.

Donating through this page is simple, quick and secure. It is the most efficient way to give so every donation goes further and if you are a UK taxpayer and give Gift Aid consent the charity will receive an extra 28% at no cost to you.

Thank you for your support.
