FAN Megan Sudbury

Hello and Welcome from FAN Megan Sudbury

The Megan Sudbury Appeal

Megan is my beautiful six year old daughter, my youngest of four children. Megan loves life, she enjoys and is doing well at school. Meg enjoys dancing, singing and loves animals. She has many friends. We are a close family and Megan is the noise, laughter and mischief in our household. Throughout her gruelling treatment she has remained happy and always has a smile on her face. She has touched the heart of all who have met her.

Megan was diagnosed with stage 3 thoracic Neuroblastoma, an aggressive childhood cancer, in April 2011.

Megan has had 7 cycles of chemotherapy followed by radiotherapy. She is now on a 6 month course of retinoic acid, and at present there is no evidence of disease.

Due to the aggressive nature of Neuroblastoma, Megan has an unacceptable risk of relapsing. Meg has had stem cells harvested which will be transplanted if she relapses. After that there is no treatment available in the UK and we will be left with no option but to seek treatment abroad.
I want to remain positive should Megan relapse but I have to be realistic, children die from neuroblastoma.

My aim is to have a fund available for Megan if she requires treatment abroad, this can be very expensive and can cost in excess of £300,000.
I am appealing to you to help support Megan. My darling daughter has great plans for her future and it breaks my heart that her life could be so cruelly cut short.
Thank you for reading this and thank you for your support.

You can also donate directly into Megan's Natwest bank account. Account number - 88722244, Sort Code – 55-81-28.

With love Alison, Megan's Mummy.

About Families Against Neuroblastoma (FAN)

FAN needs your support in many ways. Donations made to FAN will primarily be used to directly support our families. It will help provide the children with days out, wish experiences, and other things that are all intended to boost moral and put a smile on everyone's face. We firmly believe this can help make a positive impact on the success of the child's treatment. Unfortunately, not all our children will survive, and therefor it is vitally important that we can help pack as much fun into their short lives as we possible can, and leave the family with precious memories to cherish after they have gone.

A donation to a child's individual appeal will be held for the sole use of that child for treatment or for quality of life. These appeals often have a very high target due to the enormity of the medical expenses, and are therefor dependant on the generosity of donations from the general public. This really can mean the difference between life and death. Should the child no longer need the money raised in their name, funds will either become available to other children within the charity, moved to our emergency fund, donated to Neuroblastoma research, donated to our general fund, or a combination of all four, as agreed with the family.
