Scott Centenary Sledge Pull
Hello and Welcome from Orpington Sea Cadets
Scott Scholarships Sledge Pull
Thank you for visiting our fundraising page.
Orpington Sea Cadets are really delighted to be taking part in the team work challenge event to honour Captain Scott and his colleagues as part of their centenary celebrations.
We will be joining thousands of other participants all over the country to celebrate the century of Scott’s expedition by pulling expedition sledges on a local track on Saturday 5th November
Our aim to complete the last eleven miles this distance which Scott was from supplies on a track in a relay race (approx 17,000 meters) with both port and starboard division competing against each other and all cadets and staff will be taking part.
We will be dividing the funds we raise between
1. Port team: Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity www.rnrmc.org.uk/
2. Starboard team: Cancer Research UK www.cancerresearchuk.org/
3. For adventure training activities within Orpington Sea Cadets www.sea-cadets.org/
4. To support the important educational work of the Scott Polar Research Institute. www.spri.cam.ac.uk
Please help us, to whatever extent you can to support these excellent aims.
If you are a UK taxpayer and give Gift Aid consent the beneficiary charities will receive an extra 28% at no cost toy you.
Thank you very much indeed for your support.
