Combat Stress
Hello and Welcome from Panzer Soldat
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.
I shall be doing the London 10km July 10th 2011 and raising funds for Combat Stress. I hope to raise £750, please consider gift aid as this helps me get near this target.
Donating through this page is simple, quick and secure. It is the most efficient way to give – so every donation goes further – and if you are a UK taxpayer and give Gift Aid consent the charity will receive an extra 28% at no cost to you.
Thank you for your support.
About Combat Stress
Combat Stress is the leading UK charity to provide evidence-based specialist help and care to ex-Service men and women who suffer from Service related psychological injury. This tri-Service charity looks after Veterans from all ranks and from all ages - and they’ve been doing it for over 90 years: their youngest Veteran is in his early 20s, the oldest in his 90s. Few of us know how we would react to the constant threat of being killed or wounded. Or to the sight of a close friend being killed or wounded in front of us. Few of us will be called upon to witness at first hand a massacre, or a mass grave, or body parts strewn around, or mutilated bodies of men, women and children. And yet, MANY of our brave Service men and women have. For some, these nightmares are relived for their entire lives – and the effect can be devastating. There is, alas, a growing need for the services of this vital charity.....Last year Combat Stress received over 1,303 new referrals: since 2005 this number has grown by 72%. As the operational tempo continues with deployments to Afghanistan, Combat Stress anticipates increasing pressure on its services for the foreseeable future. This will cost money. Please support this vital charity as generously as you can. Thank you.
