Hello and Welcome from Di Lamb

Peddle a Poppy

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.

On 31 October 2009 The Royal Centre for Defence Medicine, based at the Selly Oak Hospital in Birmingham, fielded a team that undertook the "Peddle a Poppy Challenge". It commenced bright and early at Birmigham International Airport; from there the team cycled a route that etched the outline of the Poppy around the outskirts of the city and then on to each of the main hospitals that patients might be admitted to across the city, finishing at Selly Oak Hospital. The aim was to boost awareness and funds for the valuable work carried out by the Royal British Legion in support of Armed Forces personnel and their families, not just in November but throughout the entire year. There are many projects currently ongoing that directly support the families of casualties injured in Afghanistan; that support is vital to help them get through a very difficult time.

Please help us to remember those that have given so much.

Donating through this page is simple, quick and secure. It is the most efficient way to give – so every donation goes further – and if you are a UK taxpayer and give Gift Aid consent the charity will receive an extra 28% at no cost to you.

Thank you so very much for your support.

About The Royal British Legion

For nearly 90 years The Royal British Legion has been listening and caring - providing help and support to anyone who has served, or who is currently serving, in the British Armed Forces, and their dependents - which means that nearly 9.5 million people are eligible to call on us for assistance. With the 65th anniversary of the end of World War II approaching, the Legion takes its roles as custodian of Remembrance and safeguarding the Military Covenant between the nation and its Armed Forces seriously. We care about those involved in World Wars and the many conflicts since 1945 as well as those still fighting for their country today. Did you know that some may be sent on active service at only 17? So those we help are often much younger than you might think. This year, as always, British troops have been posted to the forefront of some of the world's most hazardous hotspots and we rely on your help to offer the wholehearted support they deserve.

Please support the important and on-going work of the Legion - your contribution means so much. The Legion is probably best known for its famous red poppy emblem as well as its annual Poppy Appeal in November but our servicesare needed all year as the demand for our support continues as Service personnel, young and old, call on us for help and guidance. Visit www.britishlegion.org.uk for more information about our work. Please help us to help those to whom we owe so much.Thank you.
