About FC United
FC United of Manchester is a community football club owned and democratically run by its 3,000-plus members. Membership is open to all, with everyone an equal co-owner, holding one voting share in the club. Formed in May 2005 by independently minded Manchester United supporters who shared a passionate belief that football clubs and their supporters are indivisible and should be owned and run by their supporters, FC United seeks to change the way that football is owned and run. We put supporters at the heart of everything and aim to show, by example, how this can work in practice by creating a sustainable, successful, fan-owned, democratic football club that creates real and lasting benefits to its members and local communities.
Part of those benefits include our plans to build a new football ground and community sports facility in Moston, north Manchester. We are proposing to include new and renovated community sports facilities and a multi-function community space at the 5,000-capacity stadium for the benefit of the whole of Greater Manchester. Our supporters have already raised £1.6m from a community share scheme - a fantastic achievement - but we still need to raise more for our Development Fund so we can reach all of our fundraising targets and unlock vital grant funding to enable us to start building in Moston. With your help we can do it and show that there is a better way for football that can make a real difference and deliver a lasting legacy for Moston and Greater Manchester, creating new sports and non-sports facilities for the area for generations to come. Thanks for your support. We really appreciate it.
