Help for Heroes
Thank you for visiting one of our three fundraising pages.
Our names are Richard Rivers and Richard Barclay, we are Dorset army personnel who wish to raise money for Help for Heroes, Julia's House and SBSA charities by way of doing two local charity events.
1. Indoor Cross Channel Swim, which will be held on Sunday 5th Sept 2010 at Hamworthy Middle School, Poole, Dorset. As a team we are going to swim the distance of the English Channel, this will be 21 land miles and 1873 lengths of the swimming pool.
2. Stock Car Racing night. This event will be held at Matchams Ringwood Raceway,Dorset, on Saturday 18th Sept 2010. We are entering two cars into the Stock car event. Richard Barclay and myself aka Rookie Racers will be driving the cars and have three races
on the night, thats if there cars last that long ?
Please feel free to come along and support us at our two events, plus come along to meet the team where we will be taking one of our stock cars for people to view plus a weapons display stand for everyone to look at and handle.
The dates and Locations are :
13th August 2010 - Bournemouth pier.
30th August 2010 - Falklands square, Poole Town Centre.
14th September 2010 - Bike Night on the Quay, Poole Town Centre.
Bournemouth Pier was a great day and we raised £1658.48 for the three charities which is a great start. Looking forward to Poole Town Centre on Bank holiday Monday.
Just think how much of a sacrifice our servicemen and women make when they are badly injured on Operations. It's so ironic that some of the fittest, healthiest minds and bodies in the country can be shattered in the blink of an eye. To overcome what can be
devastating injuries sometimes takes even more courage than it took to volunteer to take the risk. These young people, injured on duty whilst protecting your way of life, deserve your help.
Donating through this page is simple, quick and secure. It is the most efficient way to give – so every donation goes further – and if you are a UK taxpayer and give Gift Aid consent the charity will receive an extra 28% at no cost to you.

About Help for Heroes
The charity Help for Heroes was launched in October 2007 in order to provide direct, practical support to those wounded, sick or injured in the line of duty since 9/11. All the funds raised to date are either allocated or spent on the direct, practical support of those wounded in the current conflicts. To date, H4H has funded a variety of projects including the £8m Rehabilitation Complex at Headley Court, a new £3.5m treatment centre for Combat Stress, adaptive adventure training through the Battle Back programme and the creation of a £6m Quick Reaction Fund to support individuals in need.
