Rob & Sue Hamer

Hello and Welcome from Rob & Sue Hamer

Thank you for visiting our fundraising page.  On Sunday 11th September, we will be cycling 54 miles from London to Brighton on our tandem to raise money for The Living Room, a highly effective treatment center for addictions which is based in Stevenage.

Donating through this page is simple, quick and secure. It is the most efficient way to give – so every donation goes further – and if you are a UK taxpayer and give Gift Aid consent you will boost your donation.

Thank you for your support.

About The Living Room

The Living Room is a Hertfordshire based charity that provides support and therapy for families affected by addiction. We recognise that people can be addicted to a range of things including (amongst others) drugs, alcohol, overeating, under-eating, sex and love, online activities, gambling, exercise, computer games, self-harm and shopping/spending. As well as providing therapy, we support families and also provide an on-site crèche so that those with young children can attend our service. Our services are open five days a week and include group and one to one interventions. Up to 70 people a year leave us free of addictions. Each year many children in ‘looked after care’ are returned to parents who have gained recovery with us. Whilst many people re-enter employment, education; or see families once broken restored. Here’s what are clients have to say about our service… “I’ve been in recovery for 131 days, I got my children back from Social Care and my husband is back, I saved my marriage and my family!”“My children no longer live with their grandma, they moved in with me; for the first time I have a real relationship with my daughter, she says she is proud of me!”
