The Refugee Welcome Trust works to reunite families who have been split up whilst seeking asylum. Refugees often become separated from family members as they flee and once they are allowed to stay in the UK their first thought is bringing their family back together. There are many obstacles facing people looking to reunite their family including tracing their family, proving they are related and being able to put together the right documentation. For some people the last thing stopping them from being together is the money for their family's travel. The Refugee Welcome Trust believes that not having the money for travel costs shouldn’t be the one thing keeping families apart. People can have been separated for months if not years, often in traumatic and uncertain circumstances. This is where we can really make a difference.Bringing families back together in a safe environment is the first step in helping them to rebuild their lives. All our running costs have been met by one of our benefactors allowing us to give your entire donation straight to the people who need it. We provide grants to cover all the costs of the family’s travel to ensure that everyone, especially children, can travel to the UK in the safest way possible.
