Hello and Welcome from Martin Waite
2008 Great North Run
Some say i must be mad to do this, but the goal is to raise money for a magnificent charity and to set a personal challenge.
Why police PSU (riot) kit? Well it is a bit of a theme having run the London marathon in full kit with a bergen when I was in the military in the late 80's.
Today as a member of the Thames Valley Police I am involved in the training for and policing of public order incidents so it seemed like a good idea.My colleagues have reminded me that i am 'that bit older' now and whilst wishing me the best i suspect they
may be having some sort of sweepstake as whether or not i complete the run without incident or injury.
I will update the page regularly including a photo so as to show everyone the bravery/ folly of my endeavour. Please sponsor me and consider gift aid to maximise the donation
