Help for Heroes
Well here we go as a new season begins and the races get underway….
Follow our progress as we continue to raise funds for Help for Heroes via the network of events and challenges throughout the year.
3RD PLACE and a 400 EURO prize for our riders as they completed Race Around Slovenia…The 1,182km course, slightly extended this year due to roadworks was a decent pull for our boys but we were confident they had the skills to pull in a title and they DID IT! Here we go with the HERO RIDE…. Pledge your support now by clicking “DONATE NOW”. On the 28th May, we depart from Edinburgh to ride an average of 70 miles per day over five days to meet the 1000+ cyclists in Blackheath for the Hero Ride, the first and largest event of it’s kind. Able bodied riders join injured service personnel to cycle along the Mall and demonstrate the might of the Great British public that support H4H.
RAAM (Race Across America) In June we return for the third year to the USA to enter RAAM as a four man team. The difference this year is that instead of racing against Team 4Mil, we ride alongside. The deep and unique bond that we have formed with Team 4Mil since 2011 has enabled this partnership and this year we aim to break records. The Allied Forces mean that the proceeds will be shared between H4H and The Wounded Warrior Project.
RAI (Race Around Ireland)We return to the Emerald Isle in September for another crack at the challenge and to defend our title as winners of RAI 2012. We aim to take two 4 man teams and are hoping Team 4Mil may join us to race again. This event was tougher than anyone expected and even our own Kev Dawson said it “was worse than RAAM”.

Help for Heroes offers comprehensive support to those who have suffered life-changing injuries and illnesses whilst serving our country. This is provided through grants to individuals, other Service charities, capital build projects and our four Recovery Centres across the UK, in Catterick, Colchester, Tidworth and Plymouth. These will offer support for life. The money raised by the hugely generous public has been used to support our wounded, but there is still so much more to do. Soldiers, sailors and airmen who are injured today will still need our support tomorrow and in the days that follow, for the rest of their lives. They are still battling and we won't let them battle alone.
