Love Me Love My Mind
Hello and Welcome from Sue Bull
Dublin Marathon Walk, 25 October 2010
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page and supporting me as I walked the Dublin Marathon on 25th October. It was a beautiful day in all sorts of ways and 9hours 12minutes after setting off I walked across the finishing line. Money is still coming in and
this page is still open to receive donations which will be going to support the work of
Love Me Love My Mind/Epsom Mental Health Week
http://www.epsommentalhealthweek.org.uk/
Donating through this page is simple, quick and secure. It is the most efficient way to give – so every donation goes further – and if you are a UK taxpayer and give Gift Aid consent the charity will receive an extra 28% at no cost to you.
Thank you for your support,
Sue
About Love Me Love My Mind
Love Me Love My MindOur mental health is important to all of us. Did you know that one in four people will experience a mental health problem this year? Love Me Love My Mind works with local people in Epsom to help improve how we all understand mental health issues. We are a very small charity, reliant on donations, and your gift will help us to keep our vital activities running. Epsom Mental Health Week is our flagship event. Running since 2008,our programme of events ranges from conferences and speakers to poster competitions, dance workshops and comedy nights. We aim to appeal to everyone and to challenge preconceptions about mental health so we can break down stigma in our community. Our weekly drop-in at St Barnabas Church started in 2006. Specifically for people with mental health issues, it is open to all. Held on a Monday, it begins at 4pm with coffee and cake, games and chat. There is always a home cooked meal and activities such as a quiz, line- dancing, art etc. Between 18 and 25 people attend. Our occasional conferences and seminars bring together service users, carers and workers, faith group leaders and others concerned with mental health and learning disability services. The aim is to bring together groups who might not otherwise have the chance to talk. Together we seek ways to provide better care for people with a mental illness or learning disability and anybody going through a time of emotional or mental distress. We also look at the needs of carers.
