Hello and Welcome from Paul Hogan

2009 Flora London Marathon

Thank you so much for coming to my fundraising page.

Many of you know – and maybe many of you don’t know – that our super-brave 10 year old daughter Brontë is now recovering fantastically from a bone marrow transplant last year after having fought leukaemia for the previous two years.

We are enormously grateful for the brilliant health services of our country and the amazing charitable support organizations. For instance Brontë’s bone marrow donor was sourced from the United States by the Anthony Nolan Trust – an entirely non-government organisation.

I want to be honest with you, I run the Marathon because I love doing it and it has stopped me from going crazy in the last three years of madness. But in doing so I have also raised £30,000 ($50,000) in previous two London Marathons and that has got to be pretty useful to the many people who helped save Brontë’s life.

How much to give? Well there’s a lot of great causes and all of them are good. So I say at least just buy me a drink - £5, €5, $10 – whatever it costs where you are.

And my run? Last time I did a 3hr52, I wanted a 3hr30 this year – but maybe I should get a 3hr45. But if I do a 3hr40 I will buy you a drink too – by matching your donation.
