Hello and Welcome from Tedworth House

Tedworth House is a Personnel Recovery and Assessment Centre (PRAC) based in the garrison town of Tidworth. As a PRAC, it provides the facilities to support 2 of the key parts of the recovery process; the holistic life skills course and the activities to get the wounded, sick and injured back out doing what they enjoy the most.

Tedworth House is trialling the ground breaking concept of a ‘One Stop Welfare Shop’. As well as the MoD, Army and H4H offices, there is a large office where the specialist delivery agencies, local social services and charities can provide a joint solution to the individual’s needs; each contributing their specialist skills and services. This will mean that the residents can receive everything they need in one place, whether advice on marriage, financial issues, housing or help with prosthetics, it can all be obtained at Tedworth House. With this range of specialists all under one roof the intention is that an individual seeking help can just show up, or make one phone call, to get specialist support he/she needs - whatever the issue. It is hoped that the ‘corridor of charities’ at Tedworth will mean that whatever stage they are at in their recovery, no one will slip through the net.

Although based in an Army Garrison with Army staff, Tedworth House is very much a tri-service facility – just like Help for Heroes is a tri service charity. Army, Navy or RAF – all will all be equally welcome.

About Help for Heroes

The charity Help for Heroes was launched in October 2007 in order to provide direct, practical support to those wounded, sick or injured in the line of duty since 9/11. All the funds raised to date are either allocated or spent on the direct, practical support of those wounded in the current conflicts. To date, H4H has funded a variety of projects including the £8m Rehabilitation Complex at Headley Court, a new £3.5m treatment centre for Combat Stress, adaptive adventure training through the Battle Back programme and the creation of a £6m Quick Reaction Fund to support individuals in need.
