Help for Heroes
Hello and Welcome from The Great Highland Way Walk
Welcome to our group. If you would like to help please visit one (or more) of our fundraising pages listed below - or to join the group as a fundraiser yourself please click on the link below to add your own fundraising page.
In June I shall be walking from Milngarvie to Fort William on the West Highland Way and then Fort William to Inverness on the Great Glen Way to help raise money for Help For Heroes. Total distance to be covered will be 172 miles in total.
I have decided to support this charity as I have the utmost respect and pride in what our brave Men and Women do in the Armed Forces. Whenever I here about a loss of life on the front line or another brave person sadly injured it always makes me feel sad, but the way our injured troops overcome there injuries fills me with great pride and also just goes to show how they are such true heroes to overcome such terrible injuries is a tall order. Yet they carry out there recovery with a stiff upper lip, true grit and above all with dignity and honour. It makes me proud to be English when we have our armed forces to look after us and if I can help to raise some money for them then I will be humbled by that.
Please make a donation as it will be gratefully received.
About Help for Heroes
Help for Heroes offers comprehensive support to those who have suffered life-changing injuries and illnesses whilst serving our country. This is provided through grants to individuals, other Service charities, capital build projects and our four Recovery Centres across the UK, in Catterick, Colchester, Tidworth and Plymouth. These will offer support for life. The money raised by the hugely generous public has been used to support our wounded, but there is still so much more to do. Soldiers, sailors and airmen who are injured today will still need our support tomorrow and in the days that follow, for the rest of their lives. They are still battling and we won't let them battle alone.
