Trek Peru 13-24 May 2007

In May I am hoping to be trekking throught the Andes whilst raising money for Cancer Research UK . I have raised the minimum of £4000, thank you to all who have helped.  If you haven't done so yet please help me to really push for more. I am following training programme to get fit, very important as I am no longer a spring chicken!  Training is going well so far, I only ache about half as much as I thought I would! Now the nights are getting lighter and the weather hopefully impoving, it's full speed ahead.  I have just finished a training weekend going up Snowden, so far so good.

Then comes the trek, 8 days of 4-10 hours a day at altitude over undulating steep terrain culminating at Machu Pichu.  I think it will be an amazing, exhilarating, exhausting experience but I am determined to do it even if I end up going on my hands and knees.

There are very few people now who don't know of someone, whether friend, relative or aquaintance who has been diagnosed with cancer.  In the UK alone 120,000 people a year die from this dreadful disease.  Cancer Research UK raised £1.5 million last year from people like me who are prepared to take on a challenge, please help if you can.  Every little helps.
