PTSD Resolution
Hello and Welcome from PTSD Resolution
Who Cares Wins Challenge
Please donate to help relieve the military trauma suffered by our veterans and reservists. PTSD Resolution, the independent armed forces’ charity, offers a unique, proven treatment programme to resolve military trauma suffered by our veterans and reservists. Symptoms of trauma include flashbacks, nightmares and depression. Without appropriate help the result can be family breakdown, homelessness, criminality and even suicide.
So, why donate to PTSD Resolution?ü It works: an 83 per cent success rate in resolving trauma for UK veterans & reservists
ü Fast help: just three to five one-hour sessions required on an outpatient basis
ü Access for all: free to veterans, no waiting lists, no referrals needed: 200 therapists in our national network
ü Every penny counts: we’ve no salaried staff or premises: all funds are used for therapy treatment & information
But why now? Because there is a lot more work to be done. An estimated 240,000 veterans suffer from PTSD – probably more. We’ve no Government funding and we need new donations to pay for the programme to continue.About PTSD Resolution
Who Cares Wins is the fund-raising campaign for PTSD Resolution: the charity for treatment of Armed Forces Veterans with Post-Traumatic Stress (PTSD). Military post-traumatic stress wrecks lives. Symptoms range from anger and nightmares, to substance abuse, family breakdown and suicide. Over 300 Falklands veterans have committed suicide; more than were killed in the fighting in 1982. Today, 20,000 ex-servicemen are in jail or on probation. PTSD Resolution provides more effective therapy for veterans suffering from military post-traumatic stress. We are ensuring better access and availability of treatment. It is a programme designed to meet the special needs of our ex-service men and women. Relief is almost immediate in most cases: therapy is brief, effective and proven to work. The programme involves a series of one-hour therapy sessions on a one-to-one, out-patient basis, to relieve veterans of disabling symptoms. A single course of treatment is usually all that is required. It is delivered through a national network of trained therapists. They use Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioural Therapy which is a treatment for PTSD approved by NICE (the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence). We are also doing research and raising awareness of the causes and treatment of post traumatic stress. PTSD is little understood by veterans - or their families, friends or employers. These are often very much affected by the destructive behaviour associated with the condition. A key area of research will be the plight of veterans in the prison and probation system ñ who number some 20,000 today. Please support Who Cares Wins!
