FAN Zac Knighton

Hello and Welcome from FAN Zac Knighton

The Zac Knighton-Smith Appeal

Zac is an independent, feisty 8 year old. He loves anything to do with the army, guns, bombs, fighter helicopters and planes. He has already thrashed his dads score on his Call of Duty X box game. Six months ago, one of his mum’s friends managed to arrange a day trip to an army training base where he was allowed to sit in an Apache helicopter and actually flew in a squirrel training helicopter. It was a dream come true for him and what made it all the more special is that he knew nothing about it until he got to the gates! He is very popular, has a lot of friends and enjoys riding on his go cart, trampolining and playing football. Zac was originally diagnosed in Feb 2009, NED by December 2010 but had relapsed by May 2011. After groundbreaking treatment available from Germany, he was declared NED for the second time in January 2012. He recently went to a holistic immunotherapy clinic in Germany for a detoxification / body rebuilding programme and although he has to continue this approach, assisted by an organic diet, he is currently thriving. His total kick ass attitude to life and everything that has been thrown at him over the last 3 years is just awesome. Zac will have too make return journeys to the Hufeland clinic in Germany for more holistic therapy in an attempt to prevent him relapsing again in the future and that this, together with his homeopathic supplements is what we are still raising money for.

Thanks, Sam (Zac’s mum)

About Families Against Neuroblastoma (FAN)

FAN needs your support in many ways. Donations made to FAN will primarily be used to directly support our families. It will help provide the children with days out, wish experiences, and other things that are all intended to boost moral and put a smile on everyone's face. We firmly believe this can help make a positive impact on the success of the child's treatment. Unfortunately, not all our children will survive, and therefor it is vitally important that we can help pack as much fun into their short lives as we possible can, and leave the family with precious memories to cherish after they have gone.

A donation to a child's individual appeal will be held for the sole use of that child for treatment or for quality of life. These appeals often have a very high target due to the enormity of the medical expenses, and are therefor dependant on the generosity of donations from the general public. This really can mean the difference between life and death. Should the child no longer need the money raised in their name, funds will either become available to other children within the charity, moved to our emergency fund, donated to Neuroblastoma research, donated to our general fund, or a combination of all four, as agreed with the family.
